Real coals, real smoke
- Roast beef sandwich
Kolodvorska 11, a short walk from the station. Not the part of town you wander into for dinner — which is exactly why a place like this has to earn its regulars.
The sandwich
The first thing you notice is the smoke. They cook on a real charcoal grill, not a gas plate pretending, and the roast beef carries that note all the way through: deep, clean, a little bit wild. The meat is good quality and it tastes like it.
Then the coleslaw sauce, which frankly changes the game. Cool, creamy, sharp enough to cut through the fat, it turns a good sandwich into one you think about on the way home.
My one complaint is the bread. It is the classic thin kind, and a filling this generous deserves something thicker and sturdier to hold it together. Give it more body and this goes up a point.
When the grill is real, you taste it before you see it.
Room and service
Pleasant, comfortable and well run. The staff were attentive without hovering — the kind of service you only notice because nothing went wrong.
The math
Yes, it costs more than most places in town. But you are paying for proper meat, proper ingredients and a proper fire. I did not leave feeling overcharged.
Verdict
Fix the bread and there is very little left to argue with. I will be back.
